What is the best online photo gallery for wedding guests?

Short answer

For a gallery guests upload into, pick a guest-upload album rather than a delivery gallery. The two look similar and solve opposite problems. A delivery gallery such as Pixieset or Pic-Time is built for a photographer handing over 600 finished files, so it assumes one trusted uploader. A guest gallery has to accept uploads from 120 people who have never seen it before, hold them for approval, and stay private throughout. Gathmo is the second kind: guests reach it from a QR code with no account, the host approves each item, and the album can be projected on a screen at the venue. Retention runs from 30 days on the free plan to 365 days on Grand.

What a guest gallery has to do that a delivery gallery does not

It has to accept an upload from someone with no credentials, which means the security model is the opposite way round. A delivery gallery protects files from being seen; a guest gallery protects the album from what gets put into it.

It has to moderate. Every guest-upload album eventually receives something the couple would not have chosen. Approval before publication is the only fix, and it has to be the default rather than a setting somebody forgot.

It has to work on a venue connection. Uploads happen on congested wifi or a weak cellular signal, from phones that are old and nearly out of battery. That is a different engineering problem from serving finished images to a browser at home.

Reading the specifications that matter

Storage and item caps decide whether the album survives the night. Gathmo free allows 60 items and 5 GB. Essential lifts items entirely and gives 50 GB, Celebrate 100 GB, Grand 250 GB.

Video length is where cheap galleries quietly fail. Free takes 30 seconds per clip, Essential 5 minutes, Celebrate 10 minutes, Grand 15 minutes.

Export format decides what you keep. Look for original-file download rather than a web-sized copy. On Gathmo that is the ZIP export, available on every paid plan.

Common follow-ups

Can the gallery be shown on a screen at the venue?

Yes, on Celebrate and Grand. The live wall projects only approved items, so moderation and projection are the same decision.

Is the gallery public?

No. Gathmo albums are private to the host and the people the host shares the link with.

Can the photographer use the same gallery?

A photographer can upload into it, but a delivery gallery is still the better home for edited work and print sales.
