Wedding photos

What is the app that collects wedding photos from guests?

Short answer

The category is called a guest photo app or a QR code wedding album, and Gathmo is one. The host creates an event, prints a QR code, and places it on the tables. Guests scan it, the phone browser opens, and they upload from their camera roll without an install or a sign-up. Everything arrives in one private album that only the host can publish from. Gathmo also takes short videos and voice messages through the same code, which is the part most alternatives do not do. Setup takes about 2 minutes. The free plan holds 60 items for 30 days; one-off paid plans start at $49 and lift the item cap entirely.

How the flow runs, end to end

You create the event on gathmo.com, name it, and pick a date. Gathmo generates a dynamic QR code and a short link. You print the code onto table cards, a welcome sign, or the back of the menu.

A guest scans it with the normal phone camera. No app opens; a web page does. They pick photos from the gallery, optionally record a voice message, optionally sign it with their name, and send.

The upload lands in your moderation queue. You approve what you want, and approved items appear in the album and on the live wall if you are projecting one. When the event is over you download the originals as a ZIP on any paid plan.

What guests see

A guest sees one page with a large upload button and nothing else to learn. There is no menu, no account, and no password. The whole path from scan to confirmation is about 3 taps.

Guests upload from the camera roll rather than shooting inside the app. That is deliberate: people take their photos with the camera they know, then send the ones they like, which is both a better experience and a better set of photos.

A guest who wants credit can add a name to the upload. A guest who does not can stay anonymous.

Common follow-ups

Does the guest need an account?

No. There is no guest account and no guest password anywhere in the flow.

Can guests send voice messages?

Yes. The same QR code records voice messages, which are capped at 30 seconds on the free plan and unlimited on paid plans.

How long does setup take?

About 2 minutes to create the event and generate the code, plus printing time.
