Photo booth cost calculator

Quotes are usually one number. This splits it into cost per hour, per guest, and per print, so you can compare two offers that are priced differently.

We deliberately preset no prices

Photo booth rates vary too much by country, season, and supplier for a made-up average to help you. Every figure here comes from your own quote.

These are not the same product

A booth is an attraction: props, a queue, a printed strip people take home that evening. An album is coverage: what all your guests saw, including the parts no booth was pointed at. Plenty of events are better with both — this calculator is here so you know what each one costs you.

The number that matters is rarely the headline price

Two quotes at the same headline price can differ by a lot once travel, an attendant, and a print limit are counted. Splitting a quote by hour, by guest, and by print is the quickest way to see which one is actually cheaper for your event — and where a supplier has quietly moved cost into an add-on.

Questions about photo booth costs

The usual add-ons are travel beyond a set radius, setup and teardown outside the booked hours, an attendant, a props box, a custom print template, and prints beyond an included count. Ask which of those are already in the number you were given.

Booths are busiest in the couple of hours after dinner and go quiet once dancing starts. Ask the supplier when their booths typically stop being used at events like yours, rather than booking the longest package by default.

Often, yes — a booth set up during the ceremony and unused until the evening may still count against your booked hours. If the timeline has a long gap, ask whether setup can happen outside the billed window.

They answer different needs. A booth produces a deliberate, printed keepsake and gives guests something to do; guest phones produce the candid coverage of everything else. Deciding which you care about more is usually easier than comparing prices.

Convert both to the same three numbers: cost per hour, cost per guest, cost per print. A quote with a high base and generous prints often lands below a cheaper-looking one once you expect real print volume — that is what the calculator above is doing.

Yes, and it is usually where the saving is. The booth covers the window it is booked for; guest phones cover the rest of the night either way. Booking the booth for its busiest two hours and collecting everything else by QR code is a common way to cut the quote without losing coverage.
