What app is best for a wedding for people to take pictures?
The honest answer is that guests should keep using their own phone camera, and the app should only handle getting the photos to you. In-app cameras sound appealing and perform badly: they lose the computational photography the phone does natively, they are unfamiliar in a dark room, and they produce fewer photos because people hesitate with a camera they do not know. Why in-app cameras produce worse photos
A modern phone camera is mostly software. Night mode, HDR stacking, and portrait separation run in the system camera and are not available to a web page or, in most cases, to a third-party app. A photo taken inside an app at a candlelit reception is visibly worse than the same shot through the native camera.
Familiarity matters as much as quality. Guests know where their own shutter button is. In an unfamiliar interface, in low light, holding a drink, they take fewer shots and more of them are blurred.
Shooting natively also means the guest keeps their own copy, which they will want, and which makes them more willing to send you the good ones.
What the app should do instead
It should make sending trivial. A QR code that opens a page with an upload button is the whole interface a guest needs, and it is where the friction actually is.
It should accept more than photos. Short video captures the dancing and the speeches, and a 30-second voice message captures something no photo does. Gathmo takes all 3 through the same code.
It should let the host approve. Guest uploads are unfiltered, and approval before publication is what makes the album safe to show and safe to project.

Is there a disposable-camera mode?
Gathmo does not hide the photos until later. Uploads go to the host, and the host decides what appears and when.

Yes. Anything in the camera roll can be uploaded, including older photos.
Does uploading use a lot of data?
A typical photo is a few megabytes. Video is much larger, which is why free-plan clips are capped at 30 seconds.
