Written by Martin Freiwald · Updated Jul 8, 2026Event media is personal by nature: it is pictures of named people, taken in a private setting, uploaded by other guests. This section explains what happens to it — where it is stored, who can reach it, how long it stays, and what is actually deleted when you delete an event.
It also covers the decisions you make on behalf of your guests. How consent is asked for at upload, what a guest can remove themselves, how to keep an album private once the evening is over, and the data-processing agreement business customers need. If you are answering a guest who asked where their photo went, the answer is in here.
It is as useful to know what does not happen. Guest media is not used to train anything, not sold, and not shown to anyone who does not have the link or the album. When an event is deleted, the media goes with it rather than being kept in a quieter place. If you need that in writing for a client or a venue, the data-processing agreement is the document to send them.
