EventSnap alternative: Gathmo vs EventSnap
Gathmo is the better choice if voice from the 20-item free tier and an album independent of Google Drive matter most; EventSnap is stronger if 50 free photo or video uploads should land directly in your own Google Drive. Both products let guests scan a QR code and upload in the browser without an app or login. This is an honest Gathmo comparison, including the cases where EventSnap is the better pick.

Choose EventSnap for direct-to-Drive storage; choose Gathmo for a self-contained mixed-media album
EventSnap.co is a Europe-registered, browser-based QR photo and video service used across 20+ countries according to its official about page. The host signs in with Google, and guest files are relayed into a dedicated folder in the host's Google Drive. Starter is free for 1 event, 50 uploads and files up to 100MB. Single Event costs $9.99 once for unlimited uploads and files up to 1GB; Event Plus costs $16.99 once and adds a virtual photobooth and audio guestbook; Unlimited costs USD 19.99 per month for unlimited events, moderation and the complete feature set.
Gathmo also gives guests a QR-to-browser upload with no app or account. Its optional Android app is for organisers, never a guest requirement. One event collects photos, video and recorded voice from the free tier, which covers 20 items for 30 days. Paid plans remove the item-count cap within published storage and retention windows, and the live pricing section shows the visitor's currency. Gathmo does not require the host to connect Google Drive; EventSnap is the stronger fit when permanent control in an existing Drive folder is the deciding factor.

Try it on your own event
When EventSnap is the better pick
EventSnap has 2 genuine advantages that can decide this comparison: a larger free allowance and direct delivery into the host's own Google Drive. Its paid Single Event also has no time limit.
50 free uploads go straight to your Google Drive
Starter includes 1 event, 50 photo or video uploads, files up to 100MB and a QR code. Gathmo's free event covers 20 mixed items. If the larger test allowance matters more than free voice capture, EventSnap is the better free option.
Single Event stays open without a time limit
The $9.99 Single Event terms say the event and QR code never expire, while uploaded files remain in Google Drive regardless of plan status. Gathmo publishes fixed 30-, 90-, 183- or 365-day album windows, so EventSnap wins for indefinite event access tied to the host's Drive.
4 concrete differences in Gathmo’s favour
Voice is included from the free tier
A free Gathmo event accepts photos, video and recorded voice in the same browser flow, up to 20 total items.
EventSnap Starter and Single Event do not list the audio guestbook; it starts with the $16.99 Event Plus plan.
No Google account or Drive connection is required
Gathmo hosts create an album without granting Google Drive access, while guests still upload in the browser.
EventSnap hosts cannot use the documented workflow without a Google account and OAuth connection to Drive; guests need neither.
One album experience for guests and hosts
Gathmo keeps contribution, gallery, moderation, download and optional live wall inside one event product.
EventSnap is not a poor experience, but its defining archive is the host's Drive folder and the free tier only includes photo and video uploads.
The organiser app is optional
Hosts can use Gathmo on the web or install the optional Android organiser app. Guest uploads remain fully browser-based in either case.
EventSnap is a web-based service and clearly disclaims affiliation with the similarly named calendar-scanning app. Its reviewed pages do not list a separate organiser app.
Disclosure: Gathmo publishes this comparison and Martin Freiwald reviewed it. The correct rival is EventSnap.co, not the unrelated EventSnap fundraising software at eventsnap.com, the French eventsnap.events service or the calendar-scanning app. Rival claims come from current official pages. EventSnap's larger free tier, direct-to-Drive model and no-expiry Single Event are real advantages. Its homepage links to Trustpilot, but this page does not reproduce an independently unverified aggregate score or vendor testimonials. EventSnap may request a correction through the linked official contact route. If anything is out of date, readers can also report it.

Questions people ask before switching
Which EventSnap is compared here?
This page compares EventSnap.co, the web-based QR photo and video service that delivers uploads to Google Drive. It does not compare the unrelated eventsnap.com fundraising platform, eventsnap.events service or calendar-scanning mobile app.
Is EventSnap free?
Yes. EventSnap Starter is free for 1 event, up to 50 photo or video uploads and files up to 100MB. It includes a QR code and direct Google Drive delivery; the audio guestbook is not listed until Event Plus.
How much does EventSnap cost?
EventSnap showed $9.99 once for Single Event, $16.99 once for Event Plus and USD 19.99 per month for Unlimited on 30 August 2026, excluding applicable taxes. Its pricing page also provides a EUR selector. Verify the live checkout before buying.
Do EventSnap guests need an app or account?
No. Guests scan a QR code and upload through the browser without an app or login. The EventSnap host does need a Google account and Drive connection. Gathmo guests also upload fully in the browser; its Android organiser app is optional.
Where does EventSnap store photos and videos?
EventSnap relays guest files into a dedicated folder in the host's Google Drive and says it does not retain copies after delivery. The host's Google storage allowance and policies therefore apply.
Does EventSnap support voice messages?
Yes, on Event Plus and Unlimited according to the current pricing page. Starter and Single Event list photos and video but not the audio guestbook. Gathmo includes recorded voice within the free 20-item allowance.
Does an EventSnap event expire?
The $9.99 Single Event terms say the event and QR code have no time limit. Unlimited-plan events remain active while the subscription is active, and uploaded files stay in Google Drive regardless of plan status.
Is EventSnap or Gathmo better?
EventSnap is better for 50 free photo or video uploads, direct Google Drive delivery and a no-expiry $9.99 Single Event. Gathmo is better when free voice, no Drive dependency, an optional organiser app and a self-contained moderated album matter more.

Moving from EventSnap to Gathmo
Keep the Drive folder
EventSnap uploads already belong in the host's Google Drive. Do not delete or reorganise that source folder until the archive is checked.
Download or copy the files you need
Preserve full-resolution photos and video before changing signs or closing an EventSnap subscription.
Create a free Gathmo event
Test 1 photo, 1 video and 1 voice message from another phone. Guests stay in the browser and no card is required for 20 items.
Replace the QR code, not the history
Point new table cards to Gathmo only after testing. Files can be uploaded again, but EventSnap settings, Drive organisation and guest metadata do not migrate automatically.
