LINE reported 100 million monthly active users in Japan in March 2026. If the group already lives in LINE, its free standard-photo album, conversation and reactions remove a second invitation and make it the simpler choice.
A familiar group is already there
People can discuss the event, react to album media and sort by reactions in the same LINE conversation. Gathmo does not replace that messenger workflow.
Standard photos can stay free
LINE says standard-quality album photos have no fixed storage deadline. For a small photo-only group that accepts LINE accounts and quality, this can beat an event plan.
